On a long journey it always seems easier to go back the way you came. At least there a familiar things along that route and it’s comfortable. But if you’re going to make easy choices, why did you start the journey in the first place?
Alright, feels like I’m moving again. Yesterday was a good day. All day long I was actively involved in things that should move me forward on this path. Feels good to be moving…
I started my fast. I’m drinking a limeade concoction that’s based on the Master Cleanse fast. I’ve tried meal replacements… They just make me kind of miserable and hungry all the time. I can sip on this Master Cleanse limeade all day long and I’m never actually hungry. I end up getting somewhere between 800 and 1000 calories over the course of the day, and I am drinking a protein supplement around dinner time because I am working out every day as well.
Speaking of working out, yesterday I think I burn more calories in a single day that I have since I started this thing. I did my regular mile walk in the morning, and I went to the gym at lunch and burned about 800-900 calories there. After work I went over to Redbird, where I was fortunate enough to participate in a demo of the Primal 7 System that they are now integrating into their program. The creator of the Primal 7, Brian DeMarco was there, and he told us his story, and how he came to invent the system, then he put us through the paces and SHOWED us just what was possible with Primal 7. It’s a pretty cool deal. When I first started working out I was drawn to the TRX machine at the gym suspension bands and working with my own body weight. When I sat down with my trainer for the first time we talked about that, and his reaction was “Well, that’s great but you’re not strong enough to really do those exercises.”
The great thing about the Primal 7 system is in addition to the straps and the rings that other suspension training apparatus have ,they also utilize a suspension band. The band it allows me to do things that I’m not strong enough or stable enough to do on my own yet. The system really meet you where you are and allows you to do things like pushups and lunges and squats and pull-ups and chin-ups using the proper form and, with the help of the band actually complete the exercise. As you get stronger, you can use lighter bands, and eventually you will be strong enough to do the exercise under your own power. I really love that it allows me to SUCCEED at things that I had pretty much given up on exercise-wise. I worked my ass off during the demo…it was awesome. I got to hang out with Brian after it was over and chat with him awhile that was great as well. I’m really looking forward to starting the Primal 7 training in a week or so, and I will keep you posted on how it’s going.
So I guess I actually did 3 workout yesterday. My morning walk, my lunch time at the gym, and the primal 7 work out after work. I burned about 1700 calories yesterday & I only ate 700. Surely if I run a 1000+ calorie deficit for the next 4-5 days I will begin to lose weight again. Nothing for it but to do it.
