“Watch your measurements, not the scale.”
“You are really looking thinner!”
”Man, you are showing some progress!”
I know that everyone meant well, but it all sounded like so much static. Until it didn’t. I have refocused my eating habits this week (mostly successfully) and I have actually dropped a couple of pounds, which is awesome. But last night I was pulling off my shirt and my wife actually said “wow!” She came over and ran her hand down my side and commented “Look at this! You actually go straight down here instead of hanging over a little!”
SoI looked, and she was right. Even better, the skin has tightened up along with the fat loss, so I’m not saggy either. I pulled out the tape measure and took the first measurements I have taken in a little over a month. I lost another inch in my waist, 1.5 inches in my belly and 1.5 inches in the chest. Hell, I even lost a half-inch in my neck. You have NO idea how much easier it’s going to be buying a shirt now that I have an 18” neck instead of 21”.
I am also starting to show a little bit of Ab definition thanks to the good folks at RedBird Pilates & Fitness. They have forced me to do things I would NEVER have done on my own, and the results are starting to show.
It looks like things are actually changing… so I guess everyone isn’t delusional. Except maybe me. But that’s nothing new, is it?
